Snowbiography

Veejay collective Snow consist of media-artists Adri Schokker and Ruben Boxman. Their live performances are without any doubt a dazzling visual trip into an exiting world created by colourful video, photo, and graphical compositions. With an enormous quantity of images which they re-process live, the boys of Snow add a visual value to the atmosphere of several dance-events and clubs in Holland.

Style
A colourful mixture of video, photo, graphics, and animations. The flow motion of different computer techniques like video editing, compositing and CGI, ensures the visitor looses the ability to make distinctions between reality and fiction. The human image and the party scene are returning topics in their work. With midi controlled laptops and a large variety of images Snow is a able to jump into different styles and spheres of dance music. Snow performs at electro, breaks, techno, house and drum ‘n bass party’s.

National highlights
Snow performed in clubs like Paradiso, Melkweg, Winkel van Sinkel, De Rechter, Simplon, and many more. Exclusively for the after party of the first Dutch film night in the Paradiso, Snow made a veejay adaptation of Stanley Kubricks horrifying masterpiece The Shining. Snow also performed and exhibited their installations at several festivals like EuroSonic, New Attraction, Oerol, Open Haven Festival, Bollywood, Sunsation and Noorderzon Festival. Snow got nominated for the Gouden Kabouter award for best veejays in 2003.

Other projects
Besides veejaying Snow also creates video-installations of which some of them were exhibited at several galleries and art exhibitions across Holland. For example the Goodlife installation is a cylindrical video cabine of 5mtr. Inside the cabine there is 360 degrees panoramic video of an eternal, never-ending dance event, with thousands of dancing people. When the visitor steps inside he will be surrounded by a massive house party with overwhelming trance sounds composed by Dennis van Tilburg. This installation guarantees an instant party experience. At last Snow also designed and produced visuals for several theatre productions of the Noord Nederlands toneel (NNT)
