Biography
What do you get when you lock a songwriter inside a room with only a computer to make club music on? Exactly, HugoCasper.
25-year old producer Hugo Casper fromHaarlem, The Netherlands, has been writing song for as long as he can remember. He remembers himself as a little man behind his piano, watching he brothers desperately search through all of their books, trying to find the stuff he played because they wouldn’t believe that he wrote it. Hugo has always known that he wanted to be a creator of music and finds that the global rise of electronic music only enlarged the field of possibilities for his new compositions.
Creating music already got Hugo a contract as songwriter with EMI publishing years ago and that was his very first step into the professional music world. As an artist he has taught himself the diciplines of keys, guitar, vocals and producing beats. In former collaborations, Hugo has already tasted bigger stages already includingDanceValley(2008), De Melkweg (Finale of The Grote Prijs 2009) and 3FM Radio during Giel Beelen’s late night show (2010).
However, he has never stood on a stage before on his own, until now. Because with the launch of his very own live act Hugo Casper, he goes solo and takes full advantage of the no-consessions concept.
As a free bird he plays around with the concepts of Clubhouse and with his musical roots, something unique happens. Hugo Casper Live is a very energetic clubact that’s driven by melody, live synths and live vocals, all soaked in to draw the conclusion that every live element needs to be visible and understandable for the audience. No more button-mashing dude in the dark from which no one can tell whats happening. It should be personal, artistic and entertaining.
With the finishing of his first EP titled ‘Goldmine’, Hugo Casper is well on his way taking his first steps into the clubs as an solo artist. Goldmine will take you on a journey to almost all corners of house music and that’s exactly what Hugo Casper wants. Every track has its own identity and colours. Just like one should never write the same song twice either.
