Adani & Wolf + Saskia Laroo @ Casa del Jazz
Adani & Wolf and Saskia Laroo are both mixing hot jazz and uptempo jazz. Both artists will be presenting their view at the jazz music from the 50s mixed together on dance music of 2008s. Live and direct from Princes Theater in Rotterdam every first Sunday of the month, starting November 2nd.
Adani & Wolf produced two albums for Amsterdam-based saxophone and flute player Praful, One Day Deep (Therapy, 2001) and Pyramid In Your Backyard (Therapy, 2005). Both albums received accolades like “sensational break-through debut album” and “mind-blowing collage of electronic club, world music and jazz”. One Day Deep charted Top 10 in both Billboard Contemporary Jazz Chart en Billboard Electronic (Dance) Chart.
With her trumpet, equipped with a wireless microphone Saskia Laroo loves to “lounge around” and create pleasant muted athmospheric sounds or give an exciting show, playing kicking hot licks and funky bop solo improvisations surrounded by dancing audiences. Performing with special effects devices around her waist which she can operate with one hand.
Starting their residency night every the first Sunday of the month at Prinses Theater in Rotterdam from 19:30 until 24:00. In November Adani & Wolf will invite jazz/dance singer Berenice van Leer (Wicked Jazz Sounds) and Howard at sax and Saskia invites Ricky Wiranatakusuma on piano and MC Phantom, the dancehall rapper.
